Wangeci Thuo
Wangeci Thuo is a public health expert with more than a decade of experience in global health and development issues across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. She is a proven and successful neglected tropical diseases (NTD) advocate, harnessing partnerships with domestic and international organizations, policymakers, advocates, donors, and implementers to achieve program results such as the 2013 African Union NTD Resolution and the establishment of the Nigeria NTD Steering Committee, Advocacy and Resource Mobilization subcommittee.
Dr. Thuo currently serves as an Advocacy Specialist on USAID’s Act to End NTDs | East program, a global flagship initiative to help endemic countries fight neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). In this role, she provides high-level technical guidance and oversight for advocacy in support of mainstreaming of NTD activities into national health systems and sustainable sourcing of financing.
