Act to End NTDs | East welcomes International Coalition for Trachoma Control Strategic Plan 2022-2030
Act to End NTDs | East welcomes the launch of the International Coalition for Trachoma Control (ICTC) strategic plan 2022-2030.
The plan is the culmination of work led and shaped by members and observers of the coalition and unites stakeholders of the coalition around a shared vision to eliminate trachoma as a public health problem by 2030, in alignment with the global NTD road map 2021-2030.
Launched in 2004, ICTC is a multi-stakeholder membership of non‐governmental, donor, private sector and academic organizations. ICTC believes that we can achieve more by working together and provides a platform for collaboration to identify gaps and solutions in the global trachoma program, share experiences, develop preferred practices to support standardized quality delivery of interventions, and assist country governments and other stakeholders in the implementation of the WHO-endorsed SAFE strategy.
At the core of ICTC’s strategy lies four strategic objectives: 1) mobilize advocacy; 2) increase investment; 3) coordinate the provision of technical assistance among NGO implementers; and 4) ensure an effective coalition model.
Act | East welcomes the new strategic plan. We trust the plan will provide the global trachoma community and ICTC with a renewed rationale for working together in order to achieve our shared vision of the global elimination of trachoma as a public health problem by 2030.
